Calumma oshaughnessyi oshaughnessyi chameleon in highland forest of Madagascar.
Chris Anderson writes, "The animal in this photograph is a male Calumma oshaughnessyi oshaughnessyi. This species lives in and around Ranamafana. One way to tell it isn't a parsonii is that it has a dorsal crest. Calumma parsonii cristifer does have a dorsal crest but their range is limited to Perinet area and they look different overall. Calumma parsonii parsonii don't have a dorsal crest and are more widespread."
Timo Wei writes, "The chameleon is not a C. o. oshaughnessyi, it is C. parsonii cristifer. The scales of the legs are homogenous, C. o. oshaughnessyi has heterogenous scales. Also the animal of the picture has no or rudimentary occipital lobes, like C. p. cristifer. But C. o. oshaughnessyi has bigger occipital lobes (the biggest in the parsonii-complex)."
